Tune Up Tuesdays 2.17.15

Summer vibes and Deep House to Warm your Winter.

SOMETHING To Get Us Started.

Starting things off we've got a warm, fast-paced groove from Gryffin and Hotel Garuda with their remix of the sultry vocalist Banks, and her song "Beggin for a Thread." This tune is an instant head nodder with tropical synth and plucks highlighting the splashy summer beat. Nice work by these two groups of fast up-and-coming producers.

SOMETHING Soulful. Like good soul food, music with soul is equally as heartwarming. Love the chunky keys filling out this bouncy remix of Jill Scott's famous Soul-fused song "Golden" by Royce. Super classy track I can see working in a lot of sets.

SOMETHING Sunny. A perfect track to start the soundtrack of your day off, Tropical House pioneer Mozambo and Basic Tape nailed this remix of "Bright Side" with sunny and uplifting sounds that pair perfectly with Julia Church's airy and sultry voice. Focus on the Bright Side Ya'll.

SOMETHING deep. Aight Swells, enough of this summer ish, let's get to the deep stuff. Ok, loud and clear, I got Some Smoking West-coast flow just landed. Raw as botulism mate. Check This vibey, deep DnB roller all the way from 1998 by DJ APhrodite. Warming Bass to getcha soul slurpin.

SOMETHING Spinnin'. Bringing it back to that current sound, this final cut is from your boy Ollie Heldens and the Infamous bass-mongers Zed's Dead. both of these artists have had a huge influence on my productions and I'm really digging their new tune from Spinnin' Records "You Know." Solid tune.
